These sterling silver studs were handmade in Greenwich, London. Because they are made by hand, each item is unique.
Precious metals came to Earth some 200 million years ago in the form of meteorite showers, which in turn originated in supernova explosions. The precious metals which were already on Earth had been drawn to its core together with molten iron, too deep for anyone to mine.
I think it’s really fascinating to think about it, about the origins of things we take as a given.
I called this collection Origin, because the treatment shows the least human interference.
When the metal is heated up to melting temperature, it draws together and a ball forms.
That’s how I left it. It is slightly different each time, which really is the beauty of handmade:
